Somerset Hockey Association run inter-club tournaments throughout the season for U10/U12/U14 teams at varied locations.

Outdoor County Competitions are run for U10/U12/U14 and Indoor County Competitions for U16/U18 .

U10/U12/U14 Inter-club Outdoor Matches

These tournaments are open to junior clubs affiliated to Somerset Hockey Association.

The 2021-2022 season will see clubs split into 2 pools by area and those teams will enter the U10/I12/U14 outdoor competitions in their pool as below.  The dates can also be found below.

Tournament Details

  • Host club responsible for pitch hire
  • Clubs entering teams must give one week notice for entry to the host club (the Saturday one week prior to the fixture)
  • Entry fee £25 per team either by BACS prior to the fixture or payment on the day.
  • Host club responsible for scheduling of the tournament and the decision on how many teams clubs can enter
  • Separate formats for boys, girls and mixed teams where possible, host club to decide most appropriate competition plan

The Somerset Under 10, 12 and 14 Finals will, as usual, be organised and run on the day by the Somerset HA Competitions Officer. Entry information will be emailed to clubs in September 2021 and full details will be placed on the SHA website.

Somerset County Rounds

Somerset Hockey Association is piloting a Somerset Cup County Competition for U16 club teams this season.  This competition will be run in conjunction with England Hockey Rules and Somerset Hockey Association’s decision is final.

Rules for this tournament:
Due to the low entries this year this tournament will be run as a round robin tournament
Clubs may merge to field teams
No more than 16 players can be used in the team squad per game
Players must be U16 on the 31st August and 13 and over on the match day
Please read these in conjunction with England Hockey Regulations
